Because of your advice I asked to see the health certificate signed by a vet, the shots records and a current picture of a dog that was coming in from Mexico. I was more or less told that was not available to me and if I don’t want the dog they will move on to another family.
I feel like I dodged a bullet. Thanks for the education.

The fees they’re asking for dogs that are literally taken off the street of Mexico is astronomical. I’m not against people making some money on top of their efforts because they need too that’s how you stay afloat as a charity.

My issue is the underage dogs and false advertising that these dogs are fine with other dogs and people etc and then not picking up the phone when there’s a problem.

Those are all of the reasons why I have issue with them calling themselves a charity. A good charity looks out for that animal even after they’ve adopted it out. Especially if there’s an issue they should gladly take it back and rehome it..Not avoid answering the phone.

Nothing seems to help—not even Thunder Shirts. This year I called the Vet, and she gave me some calming meds to start Minnie on the night before and during the 4th. I sure hope it works!

Comment on 10 Questions That Can Identify Fake Dog Rescues by Victoria Rowe https://www.seattledogspot.com/10-questions-identify-fake-dog-rescues/#comment-45110 Sat, 10 Jun 2023 20:02:09 +0000 http://www.originalginger.com/demos/seattledog/?p=938#comment-45110 In reply to tyler.

That is so true. I told a “rescue” that I would foster a dog if it was not sick and it got along with cats. They sent me a dog straight from the shelter that wasn’t fixed, hated cats, and chased my cat all over the place and had terrible kennel cough. I was so pissed off. I kept telling her to please take The Dog somewhere else, but she waited two weeks to find somebody. In the meantime, I paid for all the dogs food, and I had to keep her separate from everyone. It was a total nightmare.
On the other hand, I just worked with a very excellent rescue and adopted a new Chihuahua. SCARS rescue in Lis angeles was awesome!!

I’ve had three Cairn Terrier puppies, but as a senior citizen I now need a senior dog! I’ve rescued two puppies, but had no idea of what pitfalls I might fall into! The above articles have been VERY helpful. I’m looking at “pet-a-tet” Does anyone have an info on them? Many thanks, Paula

Comment on Ginger’s Pet Rescue Paid Founder Over $300,000 in 2019 & 2020 by Brent https://www.seattledogspot.com/gingers-pet-rescue-paid-founder-over-300000-in-2019-2020/#comment-44739 Sat, 27 May 2023 21:23:27 +0000 https://www.seattledogspot.com/?p=51556#comment-44739 In reply to Letititia.

I paid $1300 to adopt my dog from Gingers Pet rescue. His papers were INCREDIBLY fake – the dog photographed was not him or even the same breed. She did not cover the vet bills required to cure his parasite or skin conditions. But she did pay to have him neutered. It’s very obvious that the whole set up is incredibly unprofessional and sketchy. Hopefully funds can be allocated towards growing the non-profit and not the pocket of the new CEO.

Just read your post about the unfortunate incident with the dogs from Furever Homes Rescue. It’s truly heartbreaking to hear about the neighbor’s goats. While accidents happen, it’s a reminder of the importance of responsible pet ownership and proper training. Thanks for shedding light on this issue and promoting awareness in a friendly and informative way.

The board is made of family members, which I didn’t think was fair.
If the prices to adopt a dog when I was fostering was what they are today,I would not have fostered. Their prices are over $1,000.00.
